Using Storyfold

Storyfold is an interactive fiction app from Caitty. It lets you create stories from a prompt, choose or write subsequent actions, request narration or images, and export written content. By using Storyfold, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you cannot agree, do not use the service.

Stories and age settings

All scenarios and generated characters are fictional. Choose a story rating appropriate for the reader. Mature stories require confirmation that you are at least 18 and are subject to the app’s content rules and provider restrictions. Do not use the service for sexual content involving minors, actionable instructions for harm, illegal activity, or material that infringes another person’s rights.

Your input and AI output

You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed for prompts, recordings, or other material you submit. AI responses are generated content: they can be mistaken, repetitive, inconsistent, or unavailable, and they are not professional advice or factual accounts of real people. Review generated material before relying on it or sharing it. Caitty does not guarantee a particular story result, perfect prompt adherence, or uninterrupted model availability.

Prompt editing and story versions

Every prompt has an Edit this prompt entry, including the creation prompt and prompts from previous chapters. Write your new direction and choose Replace this section to update only that prompt and its AI answer. Later prompts and passages stay in place. The current default generation fee is 2 Star Coins regardless of how old the prompt is. The reader waits for actual new prose before moving to the edited prompt. Choose New version in the prompt editor to create a different future. It retains text before that prompt and regenerates the selected answer; you write what happens next. The original version keeps its full story. The current default is 20 Star Coins, including generation. Versions receive numbered names, can be renamed for free, and are available from the reader’s version selector. Switching to another version costs 10 Star Coins; selecting the current version is free. Failed actions refund the full charge. Versions are saved on this device, without public hosting or account cloud sync.

Star Coins and optional features

Star Coins are an in-app currency for supported features. They have no cash redemption value. Current defaults are 30 Star Coins to create a story including its cover, 2 Star Coins to write or rewrite a passage, 5 Star Coins to regenerate a book description, 15 Star Coins to regenerate a cover, 12 Star Coins per scene photo, and 10 Star Coins per PDF export. Prices and supported features may change; the cost displayed by the app before confirmation is the applicable cost. A failed optional generation or export is handled under the refund behavior shown in the app.

Purchases and subscriptions

The USD base prices are 100 Star Coins for $0.99, 250 for $2.49, 500 for $4.99, 1,000 for $9.99, 2,500 for $24.99, 5,000 for $49.99, and 10,000 for $99.99. Monthly membership is $9.99 and annual membership is $99.99; both provide 1,000 Star Coins each month while active. All creation uses Star Coins. Local prices and subscription renewal terms are shown in the store before you confirm.

Purchases and subscriptions on iOS are billed through Apple’s App Store; purchases and subscriptions on Android are billed through Google Play. They are subject to the applicable store’s terms. Product availability, local currency, price, billing period, benefits, and renewal details are displayed before the store asks you to confirm a purchase. A pending, declined, or canceled payment does not grant Star Coins.

Subscriptions renew according to the store’s terms unless you cancel through the account that paid for them. Use Apple’s subscription instructions or Google Play’s subscription instructions. Deleting Storyfold or resetting its local data does not cancel a subscription.

For a payment refund, use Apple’s refund process or Google Play’s refund policies and request process. Eligibility is determined by the billing store and applicable consumer rights. An in-app refund of Star Coins after a failed generation is separate from a store payment refund. Restoring eligible purchases does not replay already fulfilled consumable credits.

Optional rewarded ads

The current default rewarded-ad grant is 15 Star Coins. Google AdMob must report an earned reward before coins are credited. Opening an ad, closing it before earning the reward, or finding no available ad does not qualify. Ad availability and reward amounts may change; the app shows the applicable offer.

Share rewards

The current invitation-share reward is 3 Star Coins, with one eligible reward per server-verified day across all stories. iOS uses an eligible system share-completion signal. Android uses an eligible destination selected in the system chooser; this signal does not verify that you later send the invitation or that the recipient receives it. Canceling the chooser, or using its copy, save, or print actions, does not qualify. Photo and PDF sharing are separate and do not earn this reward. Reward rules may change. Do not manipulate reward checks or automate shares to obtain unintended rewards.

Local storage and exports

The library, saved versions, and reading positions are stored locally. System read-aloud uses the iOS or Android speech engine; Android selects a downloaded local voice and does not upload narration text. Keep exported copies if you want a separate record. Removing the app or deleting local app data can remove stories, images, settings, and the Star Coin balance. There is currently no account-based cloud sync or automatic transfer between devices.

Delete My Account is a local reset, not deletion of an online account. It clears custom stories, edits, reading history, versions, bookmarks, the local balance, and preferences, then restores the initial bundled catalogue. Android retains fulfilled paid-purchase identifiers to prevent duplicate credits. The reset does not erase PDFs, saved photos, or messages already shared outside Storyfold. You control whether to send those files to another person.

Service changes and support

We may update, suspend, or discontinue features as models, platform requirements, and service availability change. We may restrict misuse of the service.
