Can I write my own story instead of choosing a preset?
Yes. Start with your own prompt, choose a genre and chapter count, and describe the moment you want to enter. You can also open a story from the library.
Do I have to follow the three suggested choices?
No. The reader keeps a field for your own action. Add what you want to happen, adjust the mood, or steer the next passage in another direction.
Is editing an old prompt more expensive?
Replacing only the selected section has the same normal generation fee for old and recent prompts, currently 2 Star Coins. It updates that prompt and its AI answer while keeping later prompts and passages. Choose New version to create a separate future and preserve the original story; the current default is 20 Star Coins, including generation.
How do story versions work?
Versions are separate paths through the same story, like parallel universes. New version preserves the complete original and makes the new path active with the next numbered name. Rename any version for free. Each saves its own passages and choices. Switching to another currently costs 10 Stars; the current one is free. Failed actions refund the full charge.
What are Stars used for?
Star Coins are the in-app currency. Current defaults are 30 Star Coins for a story including its cover, 2 to write or rewrite a passage, 5 to regenerate a book description, 15 to regenerate a cover, 12 for a scene photo, and 10 for a PDF. Replacing one section costs 2 Star Coins at any point in the story. Creating a new version costs 20 Star Coins, including generation, and switching to another version costs 10. System read-aloud is free. The app shows the actual cost before confirmation.
How much are Star Coins and membership?
The USD base prices are 100 Star Coins for $0.99, 250 for $2.49, 500 for $4.99, 1,000 for $9.99, 2,500 for $24.99, 5,000 for $49.99, and 10,000 for $99.99. Monthly membership is $9.99 and annual membership is $99.99; both provide 1,000 Star Coins each month while active. All creation uses Star Coins. Local prices and subscription renewal terms are shown in the store before you confirm.
What does sharing do?
The story share action sends an invitation to Storyfold. It does not publish your story to a public web page. A completed eligible share earns 3 Stars, with a shared daily limit of 3 Stars across all stories. Sharing an exported PDF is separate from that reward.
Where is my story saved?
Your library, reading progress, generated images, and versions are stored on your device. They are not public story pages or account-synced cloud saves. AI generation sends the relevant prompt and story context after you allow AI processing. System read-aloud uses your device voice without uploading the passage.
