Most things in Travely work offline, so a problem is usually either a connection issue or a setting. Here is what to check, in the order worth checking it.

My companion is not replying

Replies are generated on our server, so they are the one part of the app that needs a connection. Check that you are online, then send the message again. If nothing arrives after a second attempt, close and reopen the app. Arriving somewhere new always shows a first line immediately — that one is pre-written and works offline — so if you see the arrival line but no answers to what you type, the connection is the thing to look at.

A voice reply will not play

Tap the play pill under a reply once and wait — the audio is being generated, and tapping again while it loads does nothing on purpose so you are never charged twice. If it fails, your stars are refunded automatically. Also check your ringer switch and volume, since voice plays through the media channel. Replaying a clip you already heard is always free.

Voice replies keep costing stars

Each new voice reply costs stars; replaying one you have already heard does not, because the audio is cached. Premium does not waive this — each new clip is a real synthesis call. Autoplay is off by default so you are never charged for audio you did not ask for — you can turn it on under Settings → Autoplay voice replies.

Stars, packs and Premium

Stars unlock destinations and companions and pay for voice replies and live calls. Text chat is always free. You get a daily travel fund each day you open the app, plus stars for each new spot and each new country you stamp.

Premium grants a star allowance on every renewal and doubles the daily fund. It renews automatically; cancel any time in your Apple ID subscription settings. Restoring a purchase brings back an active subscription — it does not restore stars you have already spent.

Bought stars and nothing arrived? Open Settings → Restore purchases. If it still does not appear, email us with the date and amount.

Check-in is greyed out

Each place can be stamped once, for life. If the button reads "Already stamped here", you have been to that exact spot before — travel to a different view and it becomes available again. Check-ins stamp the place you are pretending to be; Travely never asks for or uses your real location.

Changing language

Settings → Language. Twelve languages are supported and the interface changes immediately without restarting. Your companion answers in whatever language you write in.

Light or dark mode

Settings → Appearance. Choose Light, Dark, or System to follow your phone. System is the default.

Swapping travel companions

Open the Buddies tab and pick someone else. Nobody is tied to a destination, so you can take any companion anywhere, and your conversations with each of them are kept separately.

Finding your memories

Tap the avatar in the top corner of the chat screen. Memories are in that sheet, newest first — each stamp opens the photo you saw there, the guide note for the place, the companion you were with, and a jump to that pin on the map.

Deleting your data

Your whole trip lives on your device. Settings → Start a new trip erases chats, stamps, stars, unlocked content and your profile permanently. Deleting the app removes everything too. There is no account, so nothing remains on our side. See the privacy policy for the detail.

Is any of this real?

No. Companions are fictional AI characters and every destination image is AI-generated — inspired by real places rather than photographed. Travely books nothing and is not travel advice.
