Online sketching workspace

Hand drawn whiteboard for diagrams, plans, and rough ideas.

Sketch Whiteboard gives you a fast canvas for product flows, system maps, wireframes, meeting notes, classroom explanations, and lightweight visual thinking. It keeps the rough, human feel of a marker sketch while still giving you structured shapes, editable text, arrows, local autosave, and export files you can share with a team.

Sketch-style shapes

Use rectangles, ellipses, diamonds, lines, arrows, freehand strokes, and text blocks to create diagrams that feel intentionally informal. The hand drawn rendering helps early ideas stay flexible instead of looking like final design polish.

Local-first editing

Your scene autosaves in this browser so a quick sketch can survive refreshes and accidental tab closes. JSON import and export lets you archive work, move between devices, or keep a whiteboard snapshot alongside project documentation.

Export for real work

Download PNG for chats, tickets, specs, and presentations. Pro users can create transparent PNG and SVG files for slide decks, docs, design reviews, and high-resolution diagrams without redrawing the same idea in another tool.

Use cases

Built for the messy middle of thinking.

A polished diagram tool can be too heavy when the idea is still moving. This whiteboard is meant for the stage where you need to compare routes, point at dependencies, write labels, and export a useful picture in a few minutes.

Common boards

Sketch API flows, onboarding funnels, database relationships, product screens, architecture blocks, classroom explanations, workshop notes, user journeys, bug reproduction paths, content outlines, and lightweight roadmaps. Because the format stays editable, the first version can become the next version instead of a throwaway screenshot.

Privacy and storage

Your board stays on your device.

The drawing engine runs in the browser. The app stores your editable scene in localStorage and does not upload drawings to Caitty servers. Stripe is only used when you choose to upgrade, and payment details are handled by Stripe rather than by this whiteboard page.

No account required

Open the page and draw immediately. The free tool is available without sign-up, which is useful for quick sketches during calls, support conversations, or notes that do not justify a full project workspace.

Portable files

JSON export keeps shapes, text, colors, and positions editable. PNG export creates a normal image for tools that do not understand the whiteboard format. SVG export is available for Pro workflows that need scalable output.

Premium without a subscription

Pro is a one-time purchase. After checkout, a license key activates premium features in the browser and can be reused on devices you control, following the same Stripe-backed pattern used by other Caitty tools.

Workflow details

Designed for quick diagrams that still need to be reused.

The editor keeps controls close to the canvas and uses a portable file model. You can rough out an idea, export a PNG for immediate sharing, then keep the JSON file with the project so the diagram can be revised after requirements, architecture, or product direction changes.

Fast diagram structure

Start with a rectangle, ellipse, diamond, line, or arrow, then add labels with the text tool. The rough visual style keeps diagrams approachable for early product thinking, workshop facilitation, code reviews, and feature planning.

Freehand annotation

The pen tool is useful for circling a region, marking uncertainty, highlighting a dependency, or sketching a concept that does not fit a formal shape. Eraser, undo, redo, pan, zoom, and fit-to-content keep the board manageable.

Premium export path

When a drawing moves from private thinking into documentation, Pro exports help keep it sharp. SVG works well for scalable assets, transparent PNG works well for slides, and high-resolution PNG keeps small labels readable.

FAQ

Questions about Sketch Whiteboard.

Is this the same product as Excalidraw?

No. Sketch Whiteboard is an original Caitty browser tool inspired by the familiar hand drawn whiteboard workflow: quick shapes, arrows, text, freehand notes, local saving, and export. It does not use Excalidraw branding or assets.

What can I use for free?

The free version supports drawing, local autosave, PNG export, JSON import, and JSON export with up to 40 editable elements per board. That is enough for small diagrams, quick annotations, and personal sketches.

What does Pro unlock?

Pro removes the editable element limit and adds high-resolution PNG export, transparent PNG export, SVG export, and multi-device activation through a license key. The premium access flow uses Stripe Checkout.
