A free on-device path
When the language pair and downloaded resources are supported, the device translation remains available even when your Star balance reaches zero.
AI that keeps the context
Use AI translation when a literal result misses tone, idiom or intent. The app can also explain a phrase, summarize longer text, polish wording and draft a reply.
Questions about photos
Attach a screenshot, sign, worksheet or document photo, ask a specific question, and the vision model answers what is actually visible. Tap the thumbnail to inspect it full-screen.
Listen, copy and save
Hear source or translated text aloud, copy a result with one tap, and keep useful translations in history or favorites for later reference.
Language choices that persist
Your source and target choices are shared between onboarding, the main app and the translation sheet, so the pair you choose is the pair you return to.

not for your ad profile.
The app separates language content from advertising. Translation text and photo questions are never sent to advertisers.
No account required
You can start without creating a profile, providing an email address or choosing a password. Translation history and preferences are kept in app storage on your device.
Content is sent only when needed
On-device translation stays on the device. AI requests send the text, question or attached image needed to produce the answer to our service and model providers.
Rewarded video is your choice
The host app may offer an optional rewarded video for Stars. Consent and App Tracking Transparency choices are respected, and AI content is not shared with ad networks.
Apple handles payment
Star packs and Premium subscriptions are purchased through StoreKit. Apple processes payment information; the app receives transaction and entitlement status.

How do I make oTranslate the default translation app?
Open iPhone Settings, choose Apps, Default Apps, then Translation and select oTranslate. On supported iOS versions, future Translate actions can open oTranslate in the system sheet.
Why can an on-device language need a download?
Apple supplies the on-device language resources used by that translation path. If a required resource is not installed, follow the download action shown by iOS and try again. Availability can differ by language pair and OS version.
What happens when I run out of Stars?
The supported on-device translation remains available. AI translation, Ask AI and other model-powered tools spend Stars for every user. Premium adds a finite grant at each verified subscription transaction, but it does not make the Star balance unlimited. A failed AI request is refunded when it does not produce an answer.
How much does a photo question cost?
A question with an attached photo costs five Stars. A regular text AI operation normally costs one Star; some translation engines can have a lower server-configured cost. Premium Stars are spent at the same rates as purchased or rewarded Stars.
Can I enlarge a photo after attaching it?
Yes. Tap the image preview before sending, or tap an attached image in the Ask AI conversation, to open a full-screen viewer. Use the close button or a standard dismissal gesture to return.
What does Premium include?
Premium removes ads while active and grants Stars once for each newly verified purchase or renewal: 100 Stars on the weekly plan, 500 on the monthly plan, or 6,000 on the yearly plan. AI operations still spend Stars normally. A previously processed transaction is never credited twice. Manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings.
Does the app collect my translation history in an account?
No account is required. History, favorites, balances and language preferences are stored locally in the app and shared with its translation extension through the app's private App Group container.
