Getting started

Allowing the camera

Lucent asks for camera access on first launch. If you declined, turn on camera permission for Lucent in system Settings. On iOS, use Settings → Apps → Lucent → Camera. On Android, use Settings → Apps → Lucent → Permissions. You can continue using shortcuts with the live background turned off.

Using Lucent as your home screen

On Android, in Lucent Settings turn on "Use as home screen", then pick Lucent in the system Home chooser. To go back, open Android Settings → Apps → Default apps → Home app.

Icons and folders

• Move an icon: long-press it and drag. Drag to the edge of the screen to move it to the next page.
• Make a folder: drop one app onto the centre of another. The folder is named after the app's category.
• Rename a folder: long-press the folder without moving it, or open it and tap the pencil.
• Remove an app from a folder: open the folder and long-press the app.
• Auto-organize: Settings → App grid → "Auto-organize into folders". New installs are filed automatically while it is on.
• Reset: Settings → App grid → "Reset order" removes folders and restores the default order.

Display

• The picture is blurry: the Frost look blurs the camera on purpose — choose Clear. Tap the background to refocus.
• Battery: a live camera uses more power. Switch off "See-through background" to use a static glass background.
• Effects: Water reacts to your swipes; Float drifts on its own; Tilt uses the motion sensor. Set them in Settings or turn on the Quick mode bar.
• Layout: choose Pages (swipe sideways) or Scroll (one long grid), 3–6 columns and the icon size.

iPhone and iPad shortcuts

Tap Add, select common apps and tap Add selected. Select available apps checks a fixed supported catalog; it cannot list every installed app. Entries marked with a website fallback can open in your browser when the app is unavailable. Use Create shortcut for a website, app URL, or an existing named Apple Shortcut. For apps without a supported URL, first create a shortcut in Apple's Shortcuts app using Open App, select your app, then enter its exact name in Lucent. These entries live inside Lucent and are not installed onto the system Home Screen.

Long-press an entry to edit, move or remove it. Settings → Manage shortcuts provides folders and ordering. Your layout stays on your device.

Taking and finding a photo

Tap the camera icon to immediately capture the selected front or rear camera and save the original image to Photos or your gallery. Allow camera access and, on iOS, permission to add photos. Android images appear under Pictures/Lucent. Saved photos do not contain the shortcut icons or display effects. Capture also works with the live background off. If saving fails, check permissions, available storage and that another app is not using the camera. A simulator without a camera cannot take a real photo.

iOS ads

A labeled native ad may appear in Settings and an interstitial after leaving Settings. Settings → Ads offers an optional video for 24 hours without those ads. Complete the video to receive the reward. If no video is available, try again later; all app features remain usable. Ad privacy choices appear when required by your region. Tracking permission can also be changed in iOS system Settings. The initial iOS version has no subscriptions or paid unlocks.

Android Premium and purchases

• Premium unlocks every effect and look, auto-organize and removes ads.
• Reinstalled or new phone? Open Settings and tap "Restore purchases".
• Cancel or change a subscription in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.
• Refunds follow Google Play's refund policy.

Privacy

Lucent does not upload camera images. Photos you explicitly save may sync through your system photo or backup settings. Read the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
