At Pet Friends ("we", "our", or "us"), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
- Account Data: Pet Friends does not require an account. You can use the app without providing personal information.
- Chat & Pet Data: Conversations with your pets, the pets you adopt, mood scores, and feed history are stored locally on your device. Outgoing messages are sent to our chat service in real-time to generate replies and are not retained on our servers afterwards.
- Custom Pet Photos: If you create a custom pet using your own photo, that image is stored only on your device.
- Usage Data: Anonymous analytics such as app crashes, feature usage, and session length, used to improve the app.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and identifiers used for analytics and ad delivery.
- Purchase Data: Subscription and gift-coin purchases are processed by Apple. We receive a confirmation but never your card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Pet Friends app
- Generate AI replies for your pets
- Personalize the experience based on your pet selections and mood history
- Process subscription and in-app purchase transactions
- Send opt-in notifications such as morning check-ins
- Improve the app, fix bugs, and develop new features
3. Data Storage and Security
Your conversations, custom pets, and preferences are stored locally on your device using secure iOS storage mechanisms. We use HTTPS for any communication with our chat service, and we do not retain the content of your conversations on our servers after a reply has been generated.
4. Third-Party Services
- Google AdMob: We use AdMob to deliver rewarded video ads (e.g. to unlock voice replies or extra photos) and interstitial ads. AdMob may collect and use data for personalized advertising. See https://policies.google.com/privacy.
- Apple App Store / StoreKit: Subscriptions and gift-coin purchases are processed by Apple under their privacy policy.
- AI Chat Providers: Outgoing chat content is forwarded to LLM providers (such as Alibaba DashScope, OpenRouter, or DeepSeek) solely to generate the next reply.
5. Tracking and Advertising
The app uses Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. On first launch, you may be asked for permission to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites in order to deliver personalized ads.
If you allow tracking, we may collect and share your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) and ad interaction data with advertising partners including Google AdMob. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
6. Children's Privacy
Pet Friends is rated 4+ and is intended for general audiences, but in-app purchases require an adult Apple ID. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Parents and guardians who believe a child has provided personal information should contact us so we can delete it.
