At Famous Friends ("we", "our", or "us"), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
- Account Data: Famous Friends does not require an account. You can use the app without providing personal information.
- Chat & Figure Data: Conversations with figures, the figures you chat or call, and your favorites are stored locally on your device. Outgoing messages and voice-call audio are sent to our service in real time to generate replies and are not retained on our servers afterwards.
- Custom Figures: If you create your own figure (name, era, personality, voice, photo), that figure is stored on your device. Figures you choose to share publicly are uploaded to our catalog; private figures remain on your device.
- Voice & Audio: When you place a voice call, your microphone audio is streamed to our service only for the duration of the call to produce the figure's spoken responses.
- Usage Data: Anonymous analytics such as app crashes, feature usage, and session length, used to improve the app.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and identifiers used for analytics and ad delivery.
- Purchase Data: In-app purchases are processed by Google Play. We receive a confirmation but never your card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Famous Friends app
- Generate AI text replies and spoken voice responses for figures
- Personalize the experience based on the figures you choose and your conversation history
- List your shared public figures in the community catalog
- Process in-app purchase transactions
- Improve the app, fix bugs, and develop new figures and features
3. Data Storage and Security
Your conversations, custom figures, and preferences are stored locally on your device. We use HTTPS for all communication with our service, and we do not retain the content of your conversations on our servers after a reply or call has been generated.
4. Third-Party Services
- Google AdMob: We use AdMob to deliver ads. AdMob may collect and use data for personalized advertising. See https://policies.google.com/privacy.
- Google Play Billing: In-app purchases are processed by Google Play under their privacy policy.
- AI & Voice Providers: Outgoing chat content and call audio are forwarded to LLM and text-to-speech providers (such as Google Cloud, OpenRouter, and Fish Audio) solely to generate the next reply or spoken response.
5. Tracking and Advertising
The app may use the Android Advertising ID to deliver and measure ads. You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalization at any time in your device's Settings → Security & privacy → Privacy → Ads.
6. Children's Privacy
Famous Friends is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can delete it.
7. User-Generated Content
Figures you choose to share publicly (name, era, personality, portrait) become visible to other users in the catalog. Do not include personal information about real, non-public living individuals without their consent. We may remove shared figures that violate these Terms or applicable law.
