Starting to become like Apple Maps
I’ve been using Google Maps for as long as I can remember like… since they came out with this app. This year, I’ve noticed they’re starting to become as horrible as Apple Maps for example, taking me to the wrong places, traffic not showing up on the maps and causing me to be late, I’ve also noticed they do not give you the shortest or quickest route. I truly believe they’ve secretly partnered with fuel and oil companies, whether willingly or unwillingly so you use more gas and have to fill up more and I tested this on multiple occasions and they played in my face with that. Nothing can really be trusted nowadays so be vigilant. Anyways… I’m writing this because it caused me to be wrong about a time to a destination and I’ve never felt so much anger towards anything in my life as much as I did at this app tonight on my 12 hour road trip. I would say fix whatever is going wrong with the maps but I’m sure you’re “doing the best you can to improve” and that’s valid but there will always be room for improvement in everything in life.

Labels incorrect
There’s no reason to change the name of major geographical features just because one childish world leader threw a tantrum.
Fell off
Google maps has fallen off. Twice this weekend led me horribly astray. Once on the wrong exit at a highway interchange, another it tried to get me to get on a closed highway. disappointing.

Google can’t seem to figure out traffic patterns on 95. Every weekend it is off by 20-25 minutes. That is without any accidents - just normal summer traffic. And now beyond the summer.

I’m am continuously blown away at how obtuse and ridiculously common it is for this app to pop up with results that are absolutely not what I typed in. What about typing in price chopper pulls up Hyvee as the first option? This type of inconvenience I have scarcely seen in other apps. They need to delete the code and start over.
Map sucks. Ai thing is not Gemini.
Giving busier roads to follow and being trapped in traffic. Ai don’t know what it saying.
Racist Establishment
This place have always been racist towards blacks. Mainly the old bald head man who is very rude and try to talk to blacks like we are not people. I know of many friends & family that are BLACK that have the same complaint.
I will visit your establishment to teach you people how to treat black people with dignity!!!
Exiting freeways inaccurate
If it’s gonna tell me to exit, at least tell me the actual exit number instead of the wrong one. Why did it go from e.g. exit 56A to 56B when it could’ve just said 56B from the get go??? Is this an AI update? Absolutely useless

If you’re looking for a Lexus, ask for Mustafa. Period.

Stop putting me through neighborhoods full of stop signs
Some thing changed in the algorithm that it always guide me to residential neighborhoods full of stop signs when large and easier route are available
Directions kept getting worse
Whatever it is doing, the turn-by-turn directions kept getting worse. I have no idea what it is optimizing for. It seems to find the worst or most complicated route possible.
Stupid AI button
WTF is that BIG STUPID AI button for when navigating??? It used to be the route overview which was useful. Now I always miss click that AI button and it says I’d like to help but need microphone access. If you really like to help, just show the route overview!

New voice is terrible
A new voice for live navigation was introduced a few days ago. It is distractingly annoying: vocal fry, upspeak, and creepy “I’m your friend, not a robot” vibes. There’s no option on iPhone to change the voice. I guess I’ll switch to Apple Maps.
Poor Experience Lately-what’s happening?!
Used to be really reliable. Isn’t now.
Says to exit when it’s not time to exit, puts you in the wrong lane, tries to take you in lanes that don’t exist, and often routes you extremely inaccurately when there isn’t a traffic issue to avoid. Glad i’m old enough to still know how to read a map and can navigate using my brain. Google maps is now garbage. This is a new development.
